In the twenty-first century, the prefix ‘Dr’ has become a much valuable asset to the nomenclature of a person. ‘Dr’ stands for Doctor of Philosophy or PhD degree. It is the highest degree an institution can award to a student. It’s a dream designation for many aspirants. It is an honour for many. Often, a PhD is about finding a new solution to a question but is rather all about finding a new one. It is about framing a correct null hypothesis. If the correct questions are asked, correct answers ought to follow. In the pursuit of a PhD, asking the right question is the most important step. This process requires an extensive literature review that leads to critical thinking and subsequently becomes one of the PhD thesis chapters. The literature review helps in reaching the null hypothesis based on the gap areas of the existing research or previous studies, which eventually aids in setting the objectives of the research.
