Civil engineering plays an important role in nation building. The budget of FY 2022-23 earmarked a 35% increase in the capital expenditure as compared to the FY 2021-22, which is 2.9% of Indian GDP. Under the instrument ‘PM GatiShakti’, there arenationalmaster plans to spend much of the capital expenditure for infrastructure development in the seven engines of growth – Roads, Railways, Airports, Mass transport, Ports, Waterways and Logistics.
